LG Electronics has become a Founding Partner of the World Green Building Council’s Asia Pacific Regional Network.

The company came on as a Partner starting 1 January 2017.

The Asia Pacific Regional Network is one of WorldGBC’s largest networks, with 15 Green Building Councils in Australia, Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Japan, Kazakhstan, Korea, Malaysia, New Zealand, Pakistan, Philippines, Singapore, Sri Lanka, Taiwan and Vietnam.

Terri Wills, CEO of WorldGBC, said: “The Regional Partner model has been proven to be hugely successful across our networks in Europe and MENA. So we’re pleased to welcome LG Electronics as a Founding Partner of the Asia Pacific Regional Network in 2017. The company’s expertise will help to strengthen the network of Green Building Councils in the region - one which with its large population and increasing urbanisation, is absolutely critical for the success of green building globally.”

Stephen (S.H) Min, Vice President in B2B Office of LG Electronics Inc., said: “Tackling climate change is vitally important, particularly for the Asia Pacific region because of its high population and rapid urbanisation. Ensuring buildings are greener and more energy efficient is a key means to meeting this challenge.

LG Electronics is delighted to be working with Green Building Councils in Asia Pacific as part of its new role as a Founding Partner of WorldGBC’s Asia Pacific Regional Network. Together, we can collaborate to minimse the negative effects of buildings on the environment, whilst capitalising on the many benefits greener buildings offer.”
